A strategic goal of the Distance Learning University Switzerland is to strengthen its position in the Swiss and international university scene.
To this end, education apart, special importance is placed on its own research and development.
This divides into two main branches:
- Research and development on distance learning: concentration on the characteristics of the method, i.e. blended learning (also known as hybrid training) as well as lifelong learning.
- Research that is conducted in the disciplines defining the study courses (e.g., law, economics, psychology).
Co-operation with various Swiss and international institutions and organisations has led to research findings of international interest and to participation in international conferences.
